Earlier this month I took my kiddos to the Ghirardelli factory outlet and brought home a loot of goodies for ourselves. We all love chocolate in our house, so we had been wanting to visit the store for months now. While I was there, I decided that because I love my blog, and because it was my birthday this month, and well, because I love chocolate so much, that I would bring home something for my readers as well. I love sharing my favorite products with you, and I wish that I could have bought enough of these amazing cocoa powder bags for everyone, but until I win the lottery, that ain’t gonna happen.
I’ve been using this cocoa powder for a few months now. And let me just say the brownies recipe on the back of the sweet cocoa powder pouch are D I V I N E. I mean, melt-in-your-mouth and make you swoon, divine! Because of those brownies, I’m giving away one bag of the sweet cocoa, and one bag of the regular unsweetened cocoa to one Spanglish Spoon reader. But before I go into the details about the giveaway, I wanted to share with you one way I use this cocoa powder.
Have you ever had one of those days when you needed coffee AND chocolate together? This happens to me often. The other day I wanted a cup of coffee so badly, but it was in the high 90’s that day, so a hot cup of coffee was out of the question. A frappuccino came to mind, but I also didn’t want to go out and buy one. Then I remembered I still had a bag of sweetened cocoa powder in the pantry. That’s when this Iced Mocha Coffee recipe came to life in my kitchen.
Best. Coffee. Idea. Ever!
What makes this one so special? Because of how quickly you can make it. Check it.
The quickest way to get an iced mocha coffee is simple.
In a 16 ounce mason jar, add 1/2 cup coffee with 1 teaspoon brown sugar.
If you don’t have a mason jar, go pick one up at the dollar store. You need to have at least one in your kitchen. Trust me, they come in handy in many ways. Also, if you don’t have leftover coffee from your morning brew, you can use 1 and a 1/2 teaspoon instant coffee with 1/2 cup water (room temperature).
Add 2 teaspoons sweet cocoa powder. You can add more if you want, but I recommend starting with two teaspoons per half cup of coffee. If you are going to add more, add 1/2 teaspoon at a time. Shake to mix and taste before adding more.
Seal the mason jar and shake it well until the cocoa powder has dissolved.
Seal it and shake again real good.
The quickest iced mocha coffee you can make at home.
Giveaways always make me happy. Especially when I’m sharing something I love in my own kitchen! It’s also my way of saying thank you for visiting and coming back! Every now and then I’m reminded how lucky I am to be able to share all the things that I love on here through likes and shares on social media. Recently I fixed my newsletter issue and immediately started getting subscribers. Not a lot, but the fact that people come and read my blog, and subscribe to receive my posts in their inbox means so much to me.
My giveaways are usually small and random, but in all honesty, I’m random like that. That’s something you would know about me if you are a frequent Spanglish Spoon reader. So for those of you who are committed followers, THANK YOU for accepting my imperfections. I try to stay as consistent as possible, but I have to live my life according to what keeps me sane, and that means getting sleep, being Mommy, a wife, and making sure to make time for them and myself as well. So thank you! Thank you for always coming back to check on Spanglish Spoon to see what recipe I’ve come up with next.

I highly recommend trying the Ghirardelli brownie recipe, Sara. You’ll love it!
YUM! I’m all about iced coffee lately! I haven’t tried brown sugar yet–YUM! We always go to Ghirardelli in Chicago for hot chocolate around the holidays. I totally agree about the brownie recipe–SO good.
How nice of you to have a giveaway! I have always wanted to visit Ghirardelli’s. I’ve been to their ice cream store several times in Orlando and can only imagine that their San Francisco factory must be awesome! My favorite thing to make with chocolate is a brownie cheesecake. I found the recipe on Smitten Kitchen a few years ago and my family loves it! Happy Birthday Month!
A brownie cheesecake does sound delicious! Thanks for the birthday wishes Nicole!
I would love to win this! I am an iced mocha fiend. It is the one thing that keeps me sane on long car rides with the entire family.
I love iced coffee during the summer months! Give me one with a chocolate dipped shortbread cookie and I am one happy girl!
My fave choc treat is choc fudge cake! Heavy on the fudge!
My granddaughter uses frozen coffee cubes. So her iced coffee doesn’t get diluted down. Yummm.
That’s a fantastic idea!! I’ll have to try that too. Thanks for the tip!
