Time is going wwwaaaayyyyyy too fast. Either that or I’m just the queen of procrastination. Here we are only a week before Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos, and I haven’t got a clue as to what kind of snacks/food I will be preparing for both days. Wait…I take that back. What I should say is, I don’t have a plan! I have an idea or two, but my a$$ barely made up my mind about having these gatherings at all. We were torn between going to Disneyland before Halloween, or having a party for Dia De Los Muertos.
Well, it’s safe to say Mr. Chavez and I have finally made the executive decision to stay home and CELEBRATE!! A Halloween (after trick-or-treating) get together for the local peeps, and a full on Dia De Muertos Fiesta for the out-of-town folks. I’m actually glad we decided to stay home and not go to Disneyland. I love going, but here’s the catch.
1. It’s our first Halloween in our new home.
2. Halloween is on a Friday which means we can stay up late.
3. Dia De Los Muertos falls on Saturday (all saints day), and Sunday (all souls day). Bonus!
4. I’ve never missed my family as much as I do now. Even if we are only 45 minutes to an hour away from everyone, I miss being near them.
SO. Disneyland will have to wait. And I am totally okay with that.
Now that I’ve got my agenda straight, it’s time to get inspired. Naturally Pinterest was my first stop. There are so many amazing ideas there from much more creative people than I am. Thank goodness for them, and for their willingness to share their creativity with the rest of us.
