Jugo de Naranja y Mango

One of the many great blessings of spring is that it marks the beginning of an abundance of sweeter fruits.  I love walking into a grocery store during this time of the year knowing I can find sweet and juicy ripe mangos to bring home.  Mangos are one of our favorite fruits as a family, so during the summer we make sure to always have some in the fridge before they go out of season.

Oranges are another fruit that we seem to never fall short on for some reason.  Today’s recipe brings both the mango and orange together which makes for a refreshing citrus juice.

Ingredients you will need:

1 large ripe mango peeled, seeded and diced
juice from 4 oranges
1 fuji apple, core removed, cut in 1/2″ pieces
3 cups water
2 Teaspoons organic agave nectar sweetener (optional)

Equipment you will also need

1 large bowl

Juicer (optional)

Blender or hand blender

Large mesh strainer

1 pitcher large enough to hold at least 4 cups (or 1 liter)

Once all the ingredients have been added to the bowl, blend everything well until there are no more apple pieces left.

Strain all the pulp out with a mesh strainer.

Serve with ice.

We drank it so fast the morning the kids and I made it, that I made another batch later on to have with some Malibu Rum.

Enjoy!
